Privacy policy

SuzyQ is a Chrome extension published by Backyard Software LLC for people who make outbound sales calls. It records the steps you take on a web page, replays them on demand, shows your call script, and can listen to a call to suggest what to say next.

The short version: SuzyQ has no servers. We do not collect, transmit, sell or see your data. Everything SuzyQ stores stays in your own browser profile on your own computer. The only data that ever leaves your machine is described under "Optional services you turn on yourself" below, and every one of those requires you to supply your own account key first.

What SuzyQ stores, and where

All of it is kept in Chrome's own extension storage on your computer. None of it is uploaded anywhere by SuzyQ.

Values read from a page - an account name, a contact name, a phone number - are stored the same way, on your machine only, so later steps in the same call can use them.

What SuzyQ does not do

• It does not send your scripts, call script, saved text, cards, page content, transcripts or diagnostics to us or to any server we operate. We operate none.
• It contains no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising and no tracking.
• It does not create an account, and there is nothing to sign in to.
• It does not sell or share personal information with anybody.

If you ask for a trial, or write to us

Everything above is about the extension, which sends us nothing at all. This section is the exception: it is the small amount Backyard Software holds as a business.

SuzyQ is distributed privately rather than on public release, so access is granted per person. If you ask for a trial we hold your name, the address you wrote from, and the Google account access is granted to - that last one because it is what the Chrome Web Store checks when you install. If you tell us your company or which CRM you use, we keep that as well, because it helps us answer you properly.

It is used to grant you access and to reply to you, and for nothing else. We do not sell it, we do not share it, and we do not send marketing you did not ask for. It is not connected to anything you do inside the extension, because the extension reports nothing - there is no usage to attach to a name.

Ask and we will delete it and remove the access: privacy@backyardsoftware.ai.

Speech, and where it is processed

• Live call listening transcribes the other party's audio from a browser tab you explicitly choose. SuzyQ requests on-device recognition for this, so the audio does not leave your computer. Where a machine has no on-device speech pack installed, Chrome's Web Speech API may fall back to Google's speech service - that is a Google service governed by Google's privacy policy, not something SuzyQ sends anywhere itself, and SuzyQ will not switch to it unless you have ticked the box that says so.
• Practice-call and voice-command recognition use the same Chrome Web Speech API and are subject to the same fallback.
• Whisper transcription, used for practice calls, runs entirely in your browser. The model is downloaded once from a public model host and then runs locally; audio is never uploaded.
• Chrome's built-in AI (Gemini Nano), used for the live-call coach, for plain-English voice commands and for the in-panel assistant, runs on your device.

Tab audio is only captured after you ask for it - from the extension's own button, its right-click menu item, or its keyboard shortcut - and it is captured from the one tab you point it at. Transcripts appear in the panel and nowhere else: no file, no export, no upload.

Optional services you turn on yourself

SuzyQ can talk to two third-party services. Both are off unless you enter your own account key, and each sends only what that feature needs:

• Anthropic (api.anthropic.com) - used only for AI role play, and only if you enter an Anthropic API key. What is sent: the practice conversation and the script text it is practising against. Governed by Anthropic's privacy policy.
• Fish Audio (api.fish.audio) - used only for the voicemail-in-your-own-voice feature, and only if you enter a Fish Audio key. What is sent: the voicemail text to be spoken. Governed by Fish Audio's privacy policy.

Remove the key and the feature stops; nothing is sent.

Permissions, in plain terms

SuzyQ asks for broad page access because a script you record can be on any site your work uses, and it cannot know in advance which. It uses that access only to replay the steps you recorded and to read the values you asked it to read. A per-permission explanation is available on request from the address below, and is supplied to IT departments as a matter of course.

Your data, and getting it out

You can see all of it and take it with you. Settings → Backup exports everything as a JSON file you control. Diagnostic buffers and machine-specific values are deliberately excluded from that file, and stored passwords and API keys are replaced with a placeholder rather than exported.

Because we hold nothing, a request to access, correct, export or delete your data is something you carry out yourself, on your own machine, without asking us: the export button gives you a copy, and uninstalling the extension removes Chrome's stored copy. The only records we hold are the ones described under "If you ask for a trial" above - your correspondence, and the account your access is granted to. We will delete both on request.

Children

SuzyQ is a workplace tool and is not directed at children.

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be reflected here with a new date, and the extension's Chrome Web Store listing will point at the current version.
